A turbulent year is coming to an end, and we would like to take a look at the past. A lot has happened! From awards to campaigns, events and talks to the expansion of the Cologne office everything was there. But as we all know, pictures say more than a thousand words: that's why we have compiled the most important highlights from the past year in a short recap video. Enjoy watching our review of the year!
With its radically simple mobile tariff – fraenk – denkwerk won two awards this year: silver at the Effies and bronze at the Lovie Awards. Both times in the category Customer/User Experience. We are particularly proud of winning the Effies, as it was the first time denkwerk had ever submitted a case to the Effies in 2022.
Continuing in the fast lane! In 2021 denkwerk received the honorary title "Red Dot Agency of the Year" for outstanding design achievements. Therefore, our work could be examined in the special exhibition "World's Best Communication Design 2021-2022" in Essen. Of course, we did not miss the opportunity to celebrate our success on site. At the end of May, all denkwerker:innen went to the Red Dot Design Museum on the grounds of the Zeche Zollverein in Essen. denkwerk 2022 also took one of the top places in the BVDW creative ranking with 3rd place – for the fourth time in a row.
A lot has also happened in the tech sector in the past year: In the newly launched lecture series by Executive Technical Director Kaan Karaca, we deal with current trends and topics from the tech world. And the best part? Watching the whole thing live. In 2022, we offered two talks on LinkedIn: The first talk focused on the Digital Experience Platform (DXP) and the second date on so-called Headless CMS. Working collaboratively and sharing knowledge - both are important to us. In our monthly "TechTalk" format, for example, we exchange ideas on current technology topics.
"Siggi, Siggi, Siggi. Can't you see?" – the cross-media campaign for easyCredit is just one of the client projects we are mighty proud of. Together with the Nuremberg-based TeamBank, we realised a holistic brand strategy, completed by the production of videos and an out-of-home campaign. Together, we will carry the campaign and the cooperation into the new year.
Our campaigns for AidFIVE and BABOR are also worth a look – we promise!
denkwerk also launched successful projects in the field of e-learning last year:
"Think of an ideal gym - but for the brain" - With Struggly we realised a complex e-learning portal for children from 5 to 12 years, based on the latest findings of neuroscience.
For a diverse media world: as part of the innovation project "Mission Diversity", we designed a diversity card deck that SWR can use to independently develop new diversity ideas.
We facilitate clients' business transformation in a playful way: no problem with our play/workshop framework PlayBase!
We promote international diversity: with "Denklisch - the game" we make it easier for our denkwerk expats to learn a (foreign) language at work. DaF (Deutsch als Fremdsprache: German as foreign language) rethought – seen from non-native speakers perspective.
Next Generation Telekom, the Cologne Career Day or the Digital Fashion Summit – we were there! In addition, we opened our doors to all non-denkwerker:innen in Berlin and Cologne as part of the Open House in September 2022. Run, Glessen. Run! In May, we supported the charity run of TSV Glessen with our active participation.
Alongside all our business successes, a lot has also happened at denkwerk. The Cologne office has been given a new coat of paint: with a new KonfiZone, a telephone box and larger workshop rooms for productive exchange, our office has been shining in new splendour since this year.
With 253 people, the denkwerk team is larger and more diverse than ever before. It was therefore all the more important for us to put the satisfaction of our employees to the test in 2022. With success: denkwerk is certified as a Great Place to Work®. Read more about the survey and the results in our blog.
True to our corporate philosophy "create positive change", we set ourselves the goal of becoming and remaining climate neutral – and: We did it! But how could we effectively reduce our CO₂ footprint? On the one hand, we adjusted our carbon footprint internally and rely on our colleagues. On the other hand, our investment in the trustworthy carbon certificate from MoorFutures has had a big impact.
