Fulfilling current needs without jeopardising those of future generations - GreenAkku, Bosswerk's online distributor, is making an important contribution on the road to a sustainable future. The family-run company from the Lower Rhine region offers classic PV solutions and has also set itself the goal of becoming Europe's leading supplier of mobile solar systems - ready-to-plug-in, easy-to-use photovoltaic products for motorhomes and boats. In future, purchasing via the online shop should be just as easy. Our contribution: with our digital expertise and a holistic approach, we ensure the targeted selection, design and implementation of the shop.
Future-proof website for a sustainable product range
Websites that have grown over time often become confusing. Over the years, content is added, duplicated, completely or partially overwritten and deleted. In the end, the complex, widely ramified page structure comes at the expense of user guidance. GreenAkku does not want to settle for such a status quo for its web shop. Instead, it should show how versatile the range of products and advice on sustainable solar components is. And to be easy to use for the target groups. Regardless of whether they are private individuals, specialised dealers, installation partners or public institutions. And regardless of whether the shop is accessed at home or on the move.

In working sessions, we jointly developed the vision of the new GreenAkku online shop: sustainable digital sales with a clear visual language, user-friendly page structure and informative tonality at eye level. Shopware was chosen as the system. The modern shop platform is an ideal match for Bosswerk's versatile product catalogue and also enables the integration of magazine and consulting pages.
And Shopware is also developer-friendly: the platform utilises an up-to-date codebase and software. This means a simple maintenance process and uncomplicated expandability exactly according to the customer's wishes. At the same time, the previous development status can be easily documented and transferred. Another advantage is the large community and fast, always accessible support. In the event of a problem, a suitable solution can be found quickly.
Clear visual language, clear user approach
Visitors to the GreenAkku shop should feel personally addressed and supported in their search for sustainable energy solutions for the home and garden, as well as for camper vans and boats. Visually, we have developed a user-friendly, minimalist and clear design. The overview of the versatile and different solar products has been sharpened - also through the supportive use of icons and a selected visual language with warm colours.
Taking customer needs into account in all areas of the user flow was not just about visuals, but also about content. The first step was to develop a new brand language. Based on the vision, the values and the claim, a new tonality was created - cooperative, positive and always at eye level. It was particularly important to all of us in the project to ensure low-threshold access for all users with informative and understandable content. Especially for those who have had little or no contact with sustainable energy generation.
In detail, this means that customer language (and concerns) take precedence over the company view. We consciously use memorised terms instead of internal formulations. If technical terms are used, we explain them immediately. This ensures comprehensibility and a quicker connection to potentially unfamiliar topics. At the same time, the content should arouse curiosity about the GreenAkku product range. And, of course, ensure that as many users as possible ask themselves how they can make their everyday lives more sustainable in the future.
Our conclusion on the GreenAkku website
With the relaunch of GreenAkku.de, we have completed a project that fulfils the values of our client Bosswerk as well as our own. At the same time, by using Shopware as a new e-commerce platform, we have added an exciting new shop system to our own portfolio that can fit in perfectly with the sustainable strategy of many customers.
